Obanikoro’s defection to APC makes me sad –Fani-Kayode
Senator Musiliu Obanikoro Tunde Odesola and Eniola Akinkuotu A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has described as saddening the defection of a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, to the All Progressives Congress. Obanikoro and Fani-Kayode spent about a month together in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in October last year.

Nigeria is in the wilderness, says Gowon

Yakubu Gowon (retd.), on Saturday reflected on the state of the nation and came with a verdict that Nigeria is “walking in the wilderness.” He however expressed optimism that all the challenges currently facing the country would be temporary because God’s promise was that joy cometh very soon. Gowon, who spoke in Abuja, during the thanksgiving service to commemorate 20th anniversary of “Nigeria Prays”, a prayer movement for the country, advised Nigerians to continue to pray. The agent of Mario Balotelli led the growing criticism of former Italy and AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi following remarks criticising the number of “blacks” playing at youth level in Italy, AFP reports. Sacchi, a renowned football coach and innovator who notably helped Milan to back-to-back European Cups in 1989 and 1990, has claimed he is “not racist”. But comments made on Monday, when he said “too many blacks” played in Italy’s under-20 leagues, have attracted widespread criticism on social media. “Italy now has no dignity or pride, because we have too many foreigners playing in the under-20 leagues: in our youth sectors there are too many blacks,” Sacchi said during an awards ceremony in Montecatini Terme late on Monday.
